Workshop on clay carving

Abduvali Nabiev is one of the most renowned ceramists of Samarkand and a continuer of the ancient traditions of majolica.
He is the author of the ceramic décor of the Eternal City, where together with his students he created unique majolica compositions reflecting the traditions of different regions of Uzbekistan.

Abduvali Nabiev also works with porcelain.
His pieces are known for their expressiveness: he uses deep shades of blue, green, and red on a white or neutral background.
All works are covered with glaze, which gives them durability, shine, and refined beauty.
Today, his porcelain is highly valued in Samarkand, where his creations are preserved in families and passed down from generation to generation as part of the city’s cultural heritage.

During Abduvali Nabiev’s workshop, guests will have the opportunity to take part in creating carved ceramic tiles.
Under the guidance of the master, you will get acquainted with the technique of clay carving, create your own piece, which will later be fired and covered with colorful glaze.
