In the central hall of the Congress Center, visitors are greeted by the kinetic sculpture “Sun”, created by the renowned sculptor Unus Safardiar.
Weighing over 13 tons and spanning almost 7 meters in diameter, the sculpture rotates endlessly — a symbol of new beginnings and the limitless creative energy of the modern era.
The artist drew inspiration from the Sherdor Madrasah mosaic, where a lion carries a rising sun — a timeless emblem of strength and life-giving light.

In the same space, Safardiyar’s second project for the Congress Center, the series “Allegory of Cities,” presents Uzbekistan’s ancient cities as precious gems and metals — a poetic reflection of the country’s rich history:
- Samarkand — a sparkling diamond, symbolising harmony and perfection.
- Bukhara — a golden nugget, representing trade, knowledge, and prosperity.
- Khiva — a delicate silver ornament, embodying the refinement of Eastern craftsmanship.
- Shakhrisabz — a deep green emerald, the birthplace of the legendary Amir Temur.
- Fergana — a fiery ruby, reflecting its historic role as a bridge between China and Central Asia.
- Tashkent — a futuristic pearl, the capital and heart of modern Uzbekistan — a dynamic political, economic, and cultural center, and the largest city in Central Asia.
Unus Safardiar’s sculptures fill the Congress Center with light and motion, turning it into a living gallery where past and future meet in perfect harmony.
